Growing indoor plants in water

If buying flowers every couple of weeks isn't on the agenda but you want to keep your vases looking alive, why not propagate some of your indoor plants in them?

You can keep your vases filled by rooting cuttings in water, it's soooo easy and comes with benefits including that:

  • You can't overwater them
  • You don't have to worry about disease and pests (which can be a real problem in winter)
  • They require very little attention

You can either remove plants from soil and place them in water or cut off a segment from an existing plant and place it in a vase with water.  When taking a cutting, cut below the leaf as there is a good concentration of active rooting hormone there.

Some of the easiest indoor plants to do this with include:

  1. Spider Plant
  2. Pathos
  3. Ivy
  4. Jade
  5. Peace Lilly
  6. English Ivy
  7. Philodendron
  8. Begonia
